  2. How to find & tap into back-up light wire under rear of Sorento?

    2016+ Sorento
Yes, they are quite a bit brighter. I ordered several different ones, and I don't recall which ones I actually settled on. I also changed the interior lights, they were a dull yellow. There is a thread on here about the ones I used. Did not change the glove box light, did the two overhead the...
  3. How to find & tap into back-up light wire under rear of Sorento?

I also installed LED backup bulbs, they do draw less current than regular bulbs, if that is a concern.
  4. How to find & tap into back-up light wire under rear of Sorento?

    2016+ Sorento
I tapped that wire to put the dash cam into reverse mode when backing up. Over a year now, no issues. I just use one of those crimp on taps. You could possibly use a continuity tester to find that wire someplace else.
  5. How to find & tap into back-up light wire under rear of Sorento?

    2016+ Sorento
WAIT! If you are trying to hook up the rear cam of a dash cam, it is simple. The back up lights are under a pull off panel in the hatch. Just use a tap to access the wire, close the cover and you are done.

When I had to rent a car due to my parked car being hit, they first gave me a Toyota Camry SE. With the seat all the way up I could barely see over the steering wheel. It was horrible. I think they do it to add headroom so they can sell small cars to tall people. I brought it back and got a...
  7. Help - Engine noise only when accelerating on 2016 V6

    2016+ Sorento
If I recall, and it was like 15 years ago, it was the opposite side of the turn that made noise.
  8. Windshield delamination????

    2016+ Sorento
Turns out to be overspray! Acetone had no effect, so I took a single edge razor to it. Came right off. Here is what it looked like. This is the only part of the windshield that was not covered: This is a very very good shop. From my research, this seems to be a common issue, and it is because...
  9. Windshield delamination????

    2016+ Sorento
Been trying to research. It is a haze, but there is an area that does not have it. Some people have reported OVERSPRAY on their windshield from the paint shop. Not sure how this is possible since the front was not sprayed, only the quarter panel and hatch, Possibly they used a spray wax on the...
  10. Windshield delamination????

    2016+ Sorento
OK, I recently got my car back from the shop. The rear bumper was replaced, along with the sensor on the left side, some of the mount stuff underneath, the fender molding on that side. Very minor damage to the quarter panel (did not even see it until daylight) and small damage to the hatch where...

Could even be a bad wheel bearing, They only make noise in certain conditions. Had one that only sounded off on left turns.
  12. 2018 SX vs 2019 advice

    2016+ Sorento
I have not taken a car loan since 1983, so I have no direct experience. But when using factory money the rates are generally very good. During the recession I was steered to US Bank by a Dodge dealer, their rate was like 12-13%. NO THANKS. I got a Honda accord at what was then an excellent rate.

That is really a lack of understanding. FIRST of all, if you do too many miles, a lease is probably a bad idea (normally you can take up to 15K miles per year. Deals can be structured for more miles by paying upfront). Second: leasing is just a form of financing. When you buy, you assume all the...
  14. 2018 SX vs 2019 advice

There is no origination fee. A lease can not be bought out, however NYS law limits pre-payment penalties on loans. There is a turn in fee of $400 at the end if you do not get another Kia. However there is a good damage allowance on lease returns. Turned in my daughters Santa Fe. It had damage on...

BUT, unless he is paying cash, factory money is always cheaper. So the payments will be similar. AND, more stuff was probably standard on the 2019, so it may not be that much.
  18. 2018 SX vs 2019 advice

    2016+ Sorento
I said it before. $28K is not that far from a new 2019. And Kia has very very good finance rates.

This will sound REALLY stupid, but make sure all your lug nuts are tight. On my 2016 SX I had a grinding shuddering noise on hard acceleration. Twice. Both times I tightened the lug nuts on the drivers side rear tire and it stopped.

Try turning off the AC for a few minutes if it happens again. If it is frozen, it will thaw quickly and start working again, and probably blow out a lot of moisture.
