We've had my wife's Sorento PHEV SX-P for 4 months now, and in the past couple of months we've been having Android Auto issues. It gets disconnected while plugged-in, and I can't find a pattern or cause. We tried two good USB cables and it happens on both our phones (Samsung Galaxy S20FE and S21). Sometimes it displays this message:

      - "Phone Not Responding - Android Auto was disconnected - To use Android Auto, please reconnect the USB cable"

but other times it flips back & forth quickly between

      - "Phone is not responding" and "Reading USB"

I was convinced this was a cable issue but replacing with a new cable didn't help. It happens almost on every other drive.

Any ideas what could be going on?

Hey, so I have had the same issue with my Sorento. One thing that helped was getting this cable

      USB C Cable 10Gbps, Conmdex [2-Pack, 3ft] USB 3.1 Gen 2 Android Auto USB-A to USB-C Cable, 3A Type C Charger Fast Charging Data Transfer Cord for Samsung Galaxy S22 S21 S10 S9 Note 20 10, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09R7P7R7C/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_NE4P6TN2GZJ24JMK52PJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It kept connecting and disconnecting with my other cables. I tried about 3 different ones and this one worked. I also took it to the dealership and while they didn't offer a definitive solution they said this worked about 50%of the time. Delete your phone from your car. Delete your car from the Bluetooth memory in your phone. Once you connect it back to the car, you'll have what I think is called "USB accessory connection" as an option in your drop down notifications bar. Click that and make sure the option that's selected has "file transfer" in it. I got a new phone after I had this issue and it was not selected by default, who knows why. It helped about 50% of the time but I was still getting the issue sometimes. Got the cables I mentioned up top and I've been good for 2 weeks now with no connection issues.
      Hopefully this helps!
