You've already installed a replacement so this is probably of no use to you but for someone else that may have a similar issue, with the intermittent button functions as I did, it was the switch in the fob that was failing. I found some replacements on eBay (1.7 mm height) that worked for me.

Have exactly the same problem, ordered the switches, will have to invent some creative use for the 44 leftover from the 50 pcs pack
