Elan (Vigato) Interiour door handle escutcheons

Hi Everyone. I am in need of some help

I am looking for parts for a 1998 Kia Vigato (Elan) I need the interiour trim that sits behind the inside door handle.

Please could anyone give me some idea where I could find them?

Many thanks

Wayne

You could try PM'ing cobra259 here on the site:

Kia Forum - View Profile: cobra259

he may be able to help ..

If no-go, you could contact this company, maybe they can help:

Korean Auto Parts - Hyundai Kia Daewoo SsangYong Cars

Good luck!

GottaCruise

He's not in the USA...he's in Bahrain (south of Kuwait)...I don't think Cobra259 can help him. Your other link may though. We need some posters from the middle east chipping in.

The Kia part number for those are:
0K50A-68-425 ESCUTCHION-DR RELEASE.RH
0K50A-68-455 ESCUTCHION-DR RELEASE.LH

You might have more sccess looking for the lotus Elan M100 parts suppliers in the UK.
Check this UK forum out, and they should be able to help with local parts suppliers. Lotus Elan Central

Thank you all so much for your replys.

Gottacruise: Thank you for the info. I have emailed four green and am awaiting their reply. Interesting to read on the site that they have a warehouse in Dubai.

Dave: correct on my location... we have only recently had a kia dealer here. He was baffeled when I asked him for parts for the elan. He just pointed to the computer and said not listed!

Ron: Wow! thanks for the part numbers Hopefully this will give them something positive to go on.

I have already contacted the lotus parts department and their reply was:

" Sorry to say Lotus has no intention of resurrecting these parts. I believe the original tooling may well have gone to Kia when they were making their version of the car, and we are not going to retool"

Hopefully with the help I have recieved from you all I may be able to track them down. Thank you.

It seems that the parts are still listed on fourgreens site but are actually NLA.

If these parts are truly NLA I may be looking at a way to have them reproduced. But I'm not sure if it is going to work out.

Ron. I do not see any way of sending a pm on this site. I would be interested in your oppinion on a few things.... Please could you drop me an email: w********:yahoo.co.uk

Many thanks

It's not going to be easy getting parts that are not found on other Kia models.

To send a PM, click on the persons name and select PM from the drop-down.

Well after many months.... The bad news is. I could not get hold of the origional part from either Kia or Lotus.

The good news is. If anyone is in need of these parts. I now have spare Brand new, re manufactured parts that are Identical to the Lotus part except they are 20 years newer and alot less likely to crack

If anyone needs a set please let me know.
