06 Kia spectra5 TCM

About 3 months ago my car started going into "limo mode," shuddering into 3rd gear and prompting a solenoid b malfunction. I did a lot of research and eventually took the bottom tranny pan out to access the connectors to the solenoids inside the transmission. I had all the connections resoldered at a precision place and put the car back together. That was not the fix for my vehicle so I ordered the whole solenoid pack, dropped the pan and the valve body back out and changed out the solenoids, still to no resolve. Finally, I took it to the Kia dealership for diagnostics, which they have told me I need a new TCM (transmission control module). I have finally went and obtained a used tcm from an 04 spectra, which should be compatible. Now if I hook the new tcm up in my car and reset it by unplugging the battery for a half hour, will it reset the values in the tcm or do I need to take it to Kia and pay to have them do the flashing and adjusting of values? Remember this is the TCM, not the ECU. Any input would be great at this point. I have tried everything I can think of to fix this short of replacing the transmission.
