New box and making it look good.

So my old wet up at work wasn't cutting it anymore. It was cramped and having a decked out service cart and a tripe stack sucked. I had been looking at boxes for a long time years actually. I decided on a harbor freight 56" top and bottom combo, best bang for the buck IMO. Sure the mac snapon and matco sure are nice but I cant make money with the tool box. I have some interior pics you know the boring stuffs.

So nothing more than some vinyl wrap carbon fiber look.

Too much red.

Lets add some white but not quite right.

Smatter in some blue and there we go just right.

Harbor Freight offers a lot of value for the money. While their basic toolboxes and carts are a little flimsy for anything beyond home use, the "Pro" line is actually pretty good. I work in an industrial environment and cart all my tools around in one of the smaller US General Pro boxes, and it works great for my needs, especially considering how little I paid for it. I also use their Central Pneumatic continuous flow grease gun, pumping 2-3 tubes of grease through it a week. Though the original tip wore out pretty quick, the grease gun itself has held up to everything I have put it through, despite using it at 10PSI over the rated maximum. (100PSI vs 90 max)

Was talking to a diesel mechanic when we were having one of our stake trucks serviced and couldn't help but notice his Snap-On. It was 9 feet long! That was the first thing he said, "It's nice, but at the end of the day it doesn't make me any money, it just stores my tools."

Hf really has a lot in the way of useful tools. Supposedly he snapon classic uses the same gauge of steel. The top drawer on the bottom box is my heaviest and I can close it one finger on any corner.

Dave its pretty close to full I have 4 drawers empty and some room left in a few others.

Glad you found a good quality box and is working well for you. When I was an ACTIVE auto tech, Many of my fellow techs would go "all out" to look "impressive", But then found they could not afford the tools needed to actually do their work and make money! I was much like you, lower priced box, dress it up and have money for TOOLS!

Ya that dress to impress don't go far in the tech world lol. I need to buy a considerable amount more to get where I dont need much more. Tap and die set and snapring pliers are on the quick list right now.
