Any Amatuer Radio operators or Big CBers on here?

Looking for information as where to connect the power wires for my transmitter. I see the lighter jacks but I don't like to use those. I want to be sure not to freak out the computer or destroy any sensitive electronics.

I would wire direct to the battery as your power cable to the radio should be fused and what will you be running uhf , vhf or hf and what power and amps . I have always used power cables from the battery and have no problems .

Hi Kermit1,

Just wondering what you decided to do for power to your transceiver.
I'm also looking for ideas on powering my FT-400XDM and wanted to get away from using the cig. lighter socket but the positive battery post has a cover over it with a fuse inside. I'm thinking it will be a tight fit to try and get a cable and ring lug inside of it.
