  1. High Output Alternator Swap from Sephia to Sportage

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
You can run the wire over the cam gear cover and put cable loops on the top bolts of the cam cover, having the cable follow the top of the cover. It is up and out of the way, doesn't get hot, and stays in place!

Were you able to do a side by side comparison? Redoing the wiring is easy, getting it to bolt up right is the trick! The Sportage top mount for the adjustable belt tensioner is at 12 o'clock The Sephia one is at 10 o'clock. May work or may need to run a little longer belt.

Hi Gaylene, You should be able to pull the "pumpkin" from a wrecking yard 98 or newer sportage and put it into yours. If your whole axle bearings and gears are gone, just pull the complete unit out of 1988 or newer and bolt it in. These 2 ways should be the cheapest way to go.

I did have some major surgery in Feb and recovery in March so if you sent it around that time frame it is possible I missed it somehow. Resend it and I'll get back to you. As far as bad experiences, the clutch fan in a Kia Sportage is a weak area so hope it works out for you. UPYOURKIA

Stock wheel size is 205/75/15 As far as "RECOMMENDED" this is the only size Kia recommends. I have read that the Australian Military used Sportages and put on 235/75/15. I have ran 205's, 215', 235's, 30-9.50's, 31-10.50, and now run 265/75/16's. What I noticed as I moved up the scale was...
