    1G/2G (2001-2006) Magentis & Optima
The lights are definitely aftermarket. If you don't need it or use it (the alarm) I would try to find the main box for the system and unplug it. Once that is disconnected, if the problem continues then it may be an OEM parts issue. That's where I would start though.
  2. 2006 Optima intermittant stops

    1G/2G (2001-2006) Magentis & Optima
Could be the crank sensor. I've seen these symptoms several times, including on my 2004 Optima last year. I replaced the sensor and haven't had a problem since.
  3. Rear axle question

    2011 - 2013 (XM) Sorento Forum
These axles have been pretty solid. Maybe there was a boot leak that got repaired. Also, depending on the style of wheel speed sensor (two dofferent styles), the rear knuckle has to be removed to replace it. This could also be likely, as I have replaced a few of these already. One thing to note...
  4. 09 Spectra Sr5 fuel tank fuel return filter

Kia Cerato, Shuma & Spectra Forum
It's just a maintenance recommendation. Just like your engine air filter or cabin air filter. You don't have to change it, but you should at some point. The filter serves a purpose, and over time it will get dirty/reduce flow. You may never have a problem, but then again, you might. Also know...
  5. Spectra5 SX - What do you think about this one?

Kia Cerato, Shuma & Spectra Forum
It looks like it's a clean car. 1-As far as a good deal, that's kind of on an individual basis. How does their price compare with book value? Was the WRX your only vehicle?/Do you NEED a car or is this an upgrade/second car? Are you trading in? A good deal for you may not be for someone else. So...
  6. 2006 White LX owner

    2003-2010 Sorento Forum
I'm glad you're enjoying your Sorento. First, all the door handles I have seen that are new, need to be painted before install. The only other way would to be to get a used handle off a white Sorento. Second, The squealing is probably one of the three accessory belts. Speaking of belts, how is...
  7. 04 Sedona 3.5l PCM location?

    Kia Carnival & Sedona (2002 - 2005)
I agree with Vino72. Once the carpet is pulled back the PCM is under a metal bracket. You'll need a deep 10mm socket to get it out of the way.
  8. 2001 Sportage driver's electric window

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
It sounds like the bang noise was the regulator breaking. You could remove it to inspect but it will probably need replacing.
  9. HID relay harness.

    3G (2012 - 2017) Rio
Did you try switching the bulbs as well?
  10. How many miles on your KIA?

    General KIA Non-Model Specific Discussion
I've got just over 120K on my 2004 Optima. I bought it used at 100K, even knowing the maintenance had be neglected. I brought all issues/maintenance up to par and everything has been good.
  11. Hood won't open 2008 Kia Optima

    3G (2006.5+) Magentis & Optima
The failure could be in a couple of places. First, check behind the release lever in the car, where the cable attaches. I've seen it pop off the lever. If it has come off, reattch it or try pulling on the cable itself, if it is still loose, the junction under the hood may have popped out of...
  12. Trouble Code ?

    3G (2006.5+) Magentis & Optima
You'll have to get a scan tool and plug it in. Many chain stores will scan it for free (such as Auto Zone).
  13. AC clutch coil burn out

    2003-2010 Sorento Forum
The AC compressor coil is a stand-alone unit. If the coil won't engage even though there is power to it at the connector, it's probably bad. Being able to explain why it went bad so quickly is a different story, but I'd start with a new coil.
  14. HID relay harness.

    3G (2012 - 2017) Rio
Hopefully it's a simple fix, as Tony Flags mentioned. I hve seen improper bulb installs cause all kinds of lighting brightness/aim issues. As far as the relay harness goes, I always recommend a harness with any HID install. There are so many threads on this topic, and there is a lot of people...
  15. 2013 Kia Sorento LS

    2011 - 2013 (XM) Sorento Forum
Well I guess it all depends on what you are used to (or rather, what you normally drive). All 4 cylinders will idle more rough than a 6 or 8 cylinder. The 2.4L engines have been great. I always thought the idle was a little rough and noisey in my opinion. But on the other hand, my Optima is the...
