Kia Stinger Experience

Anybody going? I'll be at the Phoenix one on Sunday the 22nd 9am. Hopefully it's a fun event and not too lame
I have a Sportage SX and a Focus RS, I guess the Stinger is about half way between the two. Will see how well it splits the difference.

Of course GT, I expect it to be pretty quick in a straight line but I expect handling to be just okay compared to the competition.

What do you mean by the Stinger is about half way between the two?
A regular Stinger is 2.0 turbo @255 hp
A Stinger GT (same as GT1 and GT2) 3.3 twin turbo @365 hp

The GT will blow your doors off!!

Unless you have something extra under the hood.

GT is also a couple hundred pounds heavier than the RS, has a slushbox automatic, the AWD is I'm assuming just a Haldex system, and I've heard the steering is kind of vague without much feedback. That's why I'm calling it half way between the two, but I'm sure it will be a fun car to drive.

Gotta say I was pretty impressed with the GT2. It was definitely pretty quick in the straight line and felt pretty good on the autocross course they had set up. I wish it was available with a manual or a dual clutch automatic but for a slush box the 8-speed did feel pretty good in sport mode.
Money being no object I would have bought the Stinger GT2 over the BMW 640i M sport that I also drove around the track that had about a $90k sticker.

Just took delivery of a red 2018 Stinger GT1 with the Advanced Driver Assistance package. Car looks and feels great. It is a great straight line performer and handles well. I'm happy with the steering. Drove home 80 miles on a two lane state road (max speed 65mph) and got over 29mpg. This was my 7th Korean car in since 2013, a mix of sedans and SUV's. Looking forward to the next 36 months.
