2018 Soul - Low tire pressure light

Hello, I bought my new 2018 Kia Soul about 6 months ago. I am still getting accustomed to all the things it has to offer. Recently a little yellow light came on. I figured out it was telling me that my tires are low. I checked them and indeed they needed a little bit of air. I have driven it several times since I added air and the little light is still on. I have read several suggestions as to why this may be & what to do about it.

One was to drive it around 55 mph after adding air and it should reset.

Another was to unhook the battery to reset everything and see if it stayed off or not.

Also, that I may have a leak in one of my tires. I have looked them over and have not seen a nail etc. I have also been keeping track of the air pressure daily and it seems to be okay.

The last was that I may have a bad battery in the wheel. Batteries in the wheels? ugh!

Car was new, only had about 30 miles on it when I bought it. My other car is 20 years old so I am pretty clueless when it comes to all these new fangled things... lol

I figure it will not hurt anything to just let it stay on but this has me a bit puzzled. I just don't have the time and I truly dread thinking about going to the dealer. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That can mean something else, you need a reader to see that. Look in the Owner Manual or... go to the dealer.
It can be that the wheels were rotated and the TPMS was not reset with the new situation.
Or it can be that they are leaking (my 2011 light goes off at 25psi).

Also, if the tires had green caps, that usually mean that they are inflated with Nitrogen, not air. Adding air kind of makes the situation worse.

So it goes...

The battery is in the sensor package. One reference I saw was that tire pressure light and engine light would be On, that is the signal that sensor battery is running low and, we assume, they came from the same batch and installed at the same time. So. You see engine light and tire pressure light, start thinking of replacing all four sensors.

My personal experience in 2013 and 2016 Kia Souls is that tire pressure light would come On. I would fill up the tire with air and the light would turn Off. I have had a couple of punctures in each car and that is the behavior I observed.

In conclusion. OP you got something wonky going on with tire pressure system. Stop by Autozone or some other place that offers to read codes and see what the car system tells you. It will likely be a code and store people may or may not have a reference to decipher it.
