V8 Borrego Gas Mileage....

So I had an opportunity to drive a loaded EX V8 Borrego with NAV for a couple of days. I picked it up on a Wednesday night, and returned it on Sunday afternoon. I was shocked by the gas mileage :O I think the EPA estimate is off, but that's just my opinion. Anyone else with the V8 comment on this? I would actually really love to own a Borrego.

My V8 is averaging 16.2-16.8 mpg combined and on a 300 mile highway trip I got 22.4.
These are actual calculations based on the actual gal. of gas used. The onboard trip computer is usually 0.5 more on my combined. I do have a fairly heavy foot so I'm sure if I were to drive in a more gas-saving manor, my mpg would be higher.

After re-reading my post I don't think I was very clear about what I was trying to say. I was impressed with the fuel mileage of it. Very much impressed. On a 500 mile trip, 20% city 80% highway, and I calculated 25.3 MPG. The trip computer said 25.1. My daily driver is an 06 Sedona, and I only WISH I could get that kind of mileage! After a little research, the Sedona weighs 200 pounds more than the RWD V8 Borrego, like the one I was driving.. I was a little shocked to say the least! But it makes sense. If the ride were a little softer, I would trade-up in a heartbeat! Love the sound of the V8! Surprisingly, the V8 RWD models are really hard to find.

The one I was driving was purchased as a dealer demo with 5,000 miles. $24,000 out the door, taxes, title, everything. Sticker was $36,535 - not a bad deal. I wish I could have gotten it when I was purchasing the Sedona, but there were none left. I have a sweet spot for red cars.
