3yrs. is about all I ever keep a car and unlike the Tundra, the new 4Runner is 100% made in Japan. I wish you all luck with the Borrego!

The Borrego has not been discontinued. The 2011s will be in showrooms in April 2010. It seems KIA played it safe because of over flow inventory of 2009s they just decided not to run a 2010 model year in the US. The Mohave is alive and well in 2010 and when the 2011s arrive here in the US in April expect to see a new diesel option and a slightly re styled exterior based off of the 2009 KIA Borrego SEMA show truck. I agree Toyota seems to be in the toilet lately with there quality and unintended acceleration woes.

I guess I'll just have to live with my "lemon" 4 Runner since Toyota's are junk. Hopefully the Borrego will reappear in time for me to trade up.

What ever you want to call it, write ups like these wouldn't make me rush to my local Toyota dealer any time soon!

All I was saying is that the resale value of vehicles are not set the year it's made. These are historical trends based on previous years. What you said is true about the 4Runners being less prone than the Tacomas and Tundras to rust. However, this has put a HUGE dent into the perception of Toyota's quality. This has led to a slide in recent years in their quality ratings... which is largely what has allowed them to charge the higher prices for their vehicles. Toyota trucks are being known now for being rust buckets. It's all over the internet... I follow the Toyota forums as much as the Kia ones. This perception, whether justifiable to the 4runner or not, is the current reality.

Modern Kia's are probably a lot closer to the quality of Toyota than Toyota would like to admit. I know this because I own a Kia... and I traded a Toyota Avalon in for it. I've drove them... I've worked on them. Plus I own a 2004 Tacoma btw (which I love ) I'm not a Toyota hater... My point is that the Borrego is solid. Period. To presume to know what the resale value will be on the Borrego is not possible at this time.

I've said this before, but I like the new 4runners... I'm just not willing to fork out the money for them. My Borrego makes me smile every time I drive it... and that's the bottom line.

Smuook,I have no problem with your response, my response was to EXV8. I truly wanted the Borrego, but no 2010 was available and the future is uncertain. By the way, I have a ruler tatooed on my **ck in case we need to measure.I hope the Borrego comes back stronger than ever and makes the competition take notice... it helps keep quality up!

Borrego v. RX350

I own both a 2009 Kia Borrego and a 2009 Lexus RX 350. So I've had both the best each have to offer. I have had my Lexus for a year and my Borrego for over two months. I can honestly say that I love my Borrego SO much more than my Lexus. The fit and finish is amazing, the technological differences are significantly better with the Borrego (the navigation, standard iPod connection, etc.) and the price was significantly less. The Borrego has things that the Lexus does not have - a backup sensor. There are only two things I miss - the power rear trunk door and built in blue tooth. But the biggest thing I like about my Borrego is the V8 engine. It purrs and is so much fun to drive. I smile everything I drive it.

I agree about the rear trunk... they could have done that better. At least they could have had it pop open... not just unlock. Small issue, but could easily be fixed.
