Thumbs up Thank You for the pictures and details

Hi. I too have a Borrego Lx. Saw the Bull Bar you installed and ordered one too. Without seeing it on yours, and with the pictures and details(none come with the bar) I would not have known to trim the underside cover slightly. Thank You so much for sharing this info.

Bull Bar Instalation

Thanks for your info. Made it a breeze to instal.
The 4- 8mm bolts and washers DID come with my kit but as with yours no instructions. Same item from the same supplier.

Sweet, I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. I really like the beefy look.

Installed new lighting on the bull bars. The LED's were ok, but they really weren't doing the job as DRLs. So I went to PEP Boys and got me some new lights for $30. They are a dual bulb design... One H3 55W and one blue wedge bulb. I bought a amber 904 wedge to replace the blue one for $5.

Here's a new schematic on how it works...

Installed:

So basically now, the white 55 watt-er acts as a DRL as long as ignition is on and low beams are off... much more effective than the LEDs.

At night, the HID low beams come on the lights change from the white 55w DRLs to amber marker lights. They actually match the parking lights really well.

The is the last "look" if you leave the parking lights on. Not very safe at night.

Bull bar frame mounted?

Hi all. Just picked up a 2009 V8 EX 4x4, plan to order the same bull bar and add lights.

Do these bars mount directly to the frame for solidity?

Would also like to do the LED DRLs, but the photos don't seem to come up on the forum now.

Thanks.

Hey Jeff, yes they mount to the frame. They support me quite well and I'm about 220lbs... Clearance affected a little sure..
