Sunvisor Hinge

The wife attempted to turn the sun visor around to the side window and the post came out of the mounting piece. It does not snap back in. Pushed it in hard and it stayed for about a week and fell again today.

Anyone got a clue of how to secure this thing back like it was?

The issue occurred in my Borrego, but on the driver's side. Seeing that the passenger side on mine is fine, it is clearly a function of use. In my case, superglue did the trick, and it has stayed put for the past few months. I can tilt the shade up and down on its horizontal axis, but not on the vertical axis, as it will simply fall out of the hole.

A couple of garages in the metro area where I live (Los Angeles area) indicate they can install it for a pittance if I bring in replacement parts. Whether that means the whole shade assembly or something else is not clear. But if you're looking for a quick fix, super glue did it for me.

I would really like to restore the full functionality to the hinge mounting since I may keep this car a long time ( I am still driving an '82 Volvo that I bought new).

There is obviously something on the back side of the mounting bracket that should be able to be repaired.

Does anyone know how to remove the mounting bracket?

It obviously has a tab to be moved but without knowledge of how I am concerned about damaging it.
