Become Lifetime Premium member, but how do I turn off adverts?

I paid to become a lifetime premium member with the hope that it would speed up the loading of forum pages, as the premium members get "less advertising".
But so far, I still get two adverts at the top of every page. All that has gone is the forum advert to upgrade your membership. Is there a way of turning off the adverts?
I'm already feeling cheated out of $40.

Hi, I'm not actually 100% sure myself but if you click on you user name at left and then click view profile. On the page that comes up, click user options, you can alter a lot of those type things [side bar ads intelitext ads from there]. As a premium member you can actually turn off more ads than I can myself. One of the more experienced moderators who is also a premium member should see this post and be able to tell you more detail on what premium members can do that others can not.

Yes, I can turn off the side bar, but I think I could do that before. Just looked through the settings again and I now have an "Enable or Disable the IntelliTXT Advertising" which I didn't have before. There must have been a delay before this appears after upgrading.
Anyway, I have disabled this, but I'm still seeing two adverts at the top of every page.

Resistration

This says "less advertising", and Admin will need to explain how much less for the Premium membership.

Admin is away on business right now, so may time a couple of weeks to get back to you on this.

Quality and not quantity counts.

Any answer to this? I'm seeing the same amount of advertising as a non-paid member!

The advertising is very clever though. Today I'm seeing adverts for Halfords which contains pictures and pricing of four products that I was looking at a couple of days ago. So it is obviously reading the browser cookies or cache and then applying the appropriate adverts and contents.
Could be embarrassing linking adverts to your browser history

In regards to ads, becoming a premium member does decrease the amount of ads shown on pages. It gives you the ability to turn off the sidebar, making browsing and reading the forum easier and a wider page to see pics and make posts. That is what we mean by less advertising. You are actually getting rid of 4 ad positions which helps your pages to load faster as well. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for your support!

Thanks for answering. While it does get rid of 4 ads, it still leaves the ones in the header & footers. I suggest you explain this in the subscription information, so potential customers know what "less advertising" means.
Turning the left side bar off does give you less advertising, but at a cost - you then loose the navigation menu/tree, which is very handy.

There is one benefit of turning off the side bar - it's easier to view the forum on my new phone (Dell Streak).
