I expected this kind of a reply from Mia KIA just from the note as an expert in his title. My friend you are completely wrong. Forums are fully about technical advice also and better answers. Notice you were the ONLY one to disagree on my opinion and to post TECHNICAL in caps, meaning the post irritated you. I have 2 KIAs and came to this forum for answers not views. Also, KIA's have been around more than enough, my Sportage is over 10 years old. My Soul is 1 year old.

Moderators need to search other car manufacturer forums just to see how ridiculous his answer was. A basic question they will go to all details, help, and links. And helpful procedures. You need to add a Forum Title for each category with such as repair or technical questions from KIA mechanics. Other forums are full of mechanics answers or mechanics that work at dealers, Moon Lighters. Most of us could care less about photos of their KIA's, we want answers. After all this is called KA Forums. Dedicated to all KIA's. Then deliver what you advertise. Technical discussions and procedural help also are a given topic that needs addressed.

If the site is not to your(underline your) standards of wants, why not find a better site to rant on. And as far as disparaging the use of the word "expert" in my info area, that is NOT my knowledge base, it is a title bestowed by the forum for number of postings made. I also have a long running thread of my own spectra problem that I am trying to figure out,I have had a few replies of assistance but have not yet been able to track it down. Am I mad or upset at the site here for that...NO! I will get my problem resolved one way or another but I certainly don't expect to be taught how to be a master mechanic and given step by step /picture instructions to fix a problem that others can not put their "eyes" on to say for sure that "here is the fix you need".

Just from a technical stand point, don't take number of views as gospel for how many actual people have viewed. Google has bots/web crawlers that go to sites and help them index pages for their search results. When one of those bots crawls through, that counts as a view. Not saying it's the majority, just saying it adds to it.

Soulsport...
We are very active in these forums....and try very hard to support our members.... You being a newbie here (17 posts) do not make you an expert in any way about way goes on here...
Your mention of having a Sportage should give you an idea of how active we can be... HERE...

I also am involved in Hyundai and Ford Ranger forums and know that not all forums are as active as you claim... One of the Hyundai forums has fallen into total disrepair allowing profanity and any kink of post....No monitoring at all... We do a great job here and are proud of what we call our PG13 rating... Your sons and/or daughters can look over your shoulder at every post...

We sometimes use "CAPS" to emphasize important words because we think it's necessary to keep them from being lost in the post(s)...
Upper case continuously is a sign of "yelling" or being upset.... Upper case used properly is used for attention and IS acceptable on forums...

Is used to be a Chrysler Corp. fan when they built vehicles that didn't rust through in under 5 years and had drive trains that could go beyond 100k without major problems....
After 2009 they became nothing more than a place to push FIAT grade garbage.... These are MY opinions and do not reflect upon any other member or the people of AutoGuide...

These are my usual behavior in boards and forums:

1. I browse if there's interesting stuff to read, moreso if it involves my vehicle or interest.
2. I browse to find answers to my queries. If I have the time, I'll create a thread about my query or if I find the correct existing thread, i'll post a question there.
3. If I get lucky, I might find the exact answer to my question, which this forum is very generous enough to always have one.
4. If I'm unlucky, I just search elsewhere and not b!tch about it. I'm not paying these people to answer me anyway.
5. If I'm feeling a bit proud (parts purchase, polished car, etc.) i'll post a picture about it.

So I guess being generally mad at a forum because it doesn't answer your question is pretty childish IMO.

There IS a Technical section in the forum with sub categories for areas that they cover. Why not explore the heading bar and take a look. I can not speak of how in depth it is as I have never used it and have only posted on this main page of recent posts. And I am not a FEMALE DOG! And NO young "whippersnapper" either!

You neglect to alter or change or add more categories to actually help people. Why don't you read the other posts, they all agree. You don't need advanced members per se that refuse to address major problems. This is a major problem with this board. There really is not a lot of help for KIA's and you refuse to address that you need a category that says Technical Assistance or help from KIA mechanics or repair people. Sure wouldn't hurt unless you were one of the people who answered.

So, I am not paying people to answer my question. Why should I. That is the world today, everybody wants money for anything they do. When I was a kid on weekends my Dad took us to neighbors houses and we fixed whatever they needed for free and vice versa. Money was not even in the equation. Was never asked about. This is a free forum, should offer free advice. That is my free advice. Offer more instead of people wasting there time on this board. Even dealers will sometimes answer more questions free than what this board does. It is a ridicule to KIA owners in need of help sometimes. Makes some people look like they are idiots on their own KIA cars. Probably your generation. I am over 70 years old. We help each other for FREE.
geez, I think you need to lighten up a little soulsport. We have some pretty bright people here, some with specialized knowledge and some with more general experience. Trying to diagnose somebodies problem based on their description of it can be a real crap shoot.

Nobodies claiming to have all the answers to whatever problem your car has. But it's worth a shot.

In many ways, you get what you pay for, but here I think you get way more than what you pay for. Are you ticked off because someone sent you a bill?

p.s.over 70? ...big deal, get back to me when you make 80.

I told myself not to post on this thread because it's such a total and complete waste of time. But your continued droning on and on about how bad this forum is, made me snap and I just can't hold back any longer.

You were told by a couple of people why this (and most other) forums have seen a drop in participation, and they were 100% correct. But you chose to ignore what they said, and hang on to this ridiculous idea that the admins of this forum are the cause of low usage because they 'refuse' to include a forum category with some title like 'Technical Assistance or help from KIA mechanics or repair people' (or whatever you want to call it). So, you apparently believe that simply adding such a category, will cause mechanics and expert DIYers to want to join this forum, and begin dispensing their advice for free. All I can say is that I own a bridge in Brooklyn that you might be interested in buying.

Here's my free advice to you. Instead of bringing everyone down with such a completely negative and totally useless rant like you did in this thread, why don't you just quietly try to help others with whatever knowledge you've acquired in your 70+ years, just like some of the rest of us do. Try becoming part of the solution instead of being part of the problem.

I have have removed one offensive post from the original poster and will remove others as needed...
Let's get on with being a great forum and enjoying each other's posts...
I'm a moderator here to try to keep us civilized... I'm not a "cop" but a member who has had these privileges given to me...
and I am pained to see threads falling into this level of childishness....
Please prove me wrong...

(kiatechinfo.com) went this way in 2014... This site is not KIA owned ..
I was pretty bummed out when I learned that site went away, or rather the free aspect of it. I had heard about it years ago, long before I even thought about buying a Kia, and thought it was pretty cool that they provided technical info free of charge like that. Oh well.

At least the standard owners manual has more than the usual amount of information in it. For example, most owners manuals just list the bulb types used by each light, along with perhaps a suggestion to have your dealer change it. The Kia manual actually has pictures and descriptions on how to change the bulbs.

And to the original poster: Sorry we couldn't be of more assistance, I guess.
