pictures coming out rotated 90 degrees

Why are some jpeg photos that I've tried to upload coming out sideways or rotated 90 degrees? They are under the max size limit. I've had to make them even smaller so they will upload correctly. Details are hard to see this way because they are so small. The photo's in question were taken with my iPhone then loaded to my computer first. I can provide some examples if needed. Thanks.

Yes, examples would be needed, and confirm what method you're using to upload them, "Manage Attachment" Button, or "Insert Image" , or using "URL".

Funny it seems to be working now. I'm not sure what I've been doing wrong. I'm using the manage attachment option. Let me see if I can get it to act up again and I'll get back to you. Thanks.

This was attachment was sideways when I tried it earlier.

Yip, that looks fine.

Often I click on the thumnail, and then on the image when it pops up, then copy its URL, and with that "Insert Image" button, paste URL, and it then appears full size in the body of the post.
