2014 Forte, srs. need scanner help..

Hello all,
Have a scanner question.. Wife drives a 2014 Forte. Srs light came on. Our little Bosch obd2 reader wont read the Kia so i am trying to find a good one that will read multiple vehicles besides the kia. I have read on threads about the elm327 and am a little confused. Is that the ONLY protocall that will read besides the GDS? I am looking at the Ancel FX6000 and the Autex ifix969. Does anyone have any experience with either of these models? Other vehicles in my garage are a 1991 f150 4x4, 1999 f150, 2006 mustang,2001 corolla,1994 dodge ram. I am looking for a reader that will work on all my cars, and friends car (since i seem to be the neighborhood mechanic.) It doesnt really have to do the fords because i use a VCMii with fords ids for programing, but it would be nice..lol
Thanks..

This Review seems to be quite in favour of the Ancel FX6000
obdadvisor.com/ancel-fx6000-review/

Myself I use a YHASI Elm 327 Bluetooth type reader paired with an App on my Android pad or YHASI ODB2 connector hooked up to my MacBook Pro. It has served me well and was fairly cheap in comparison to something like the Ancel 6000 but if i read that review, the Ancel 6000 seems to have a lot of functionality.

What did you finally pick?

thanks g.m. after reading tons of reviews i went with neither of them. the ancel has a problem with freezing up.. i almost dropped the big bucks for a gds system like i did for my vcm for fords. i ended up with a Foxwell nt520. you have to purchase each vehicle brand software individually for $60 but it works awesome. i was able to read the srs code. I was then able to run live data and get read out of all the ohms for each piece of the srs system to find the exact fault. every piece was 2.4 ohms except for the clock spring which was 12. ohms, that was the faulty bugger..Quick trip to the Kia dealer $104 plus tax and about an hour, DONE..cleared all the codes and working correctly now.
