Hard Start Issue 2016 Forte Lx.

Went to start the car to day, after it sitting for about 4 days.. Turn the key and it would not start.. It tired and tried but would not complete the process. I had lights, radio, alarm every thing seemed to work.. Put a charging cable on it, and after 3-4 minutes it would start.. Not to sure if it is actually the battery as the batter is only 1.5 yrs old.. Last time the battery did go, it was dead, with nothing working.. It's a 2016 Forte LX with only 56k miles on it.. It goes to the shop tomorrow, but curious as to what to test here at home, before I take it in. Thanks.

Went to dealer, they did a electrical check, and every thing came back fine. So will chock this up as just being a random thing, and will monitor over time.

Would it crank for a few turns and stop on its own? Could be crank sensor.

Yes it would.. Its' been what a week and so far its' cranking all the time.. Glade you mentioned that, will have to change if that is indeed the issue in the future.

Crank sensor failure would cut off cranking after a few turns.
Look into fuel delivery, spark and compression.

What do you actually mean by that, did the starter crank the engine and it just didn't fire?

If it was cranking then its not a battery problem.

Next time it cranks and not fire, try a spray of starter fluid into the intake - if it starts on that, then you know the crank and cam sensors are all good and its a fuel delivery issue.

Quality and not quantity counts.

Yes the starter did crank, it just would not start period.. I figured may be there was some junk in the tank.. We do tend to have issue with bad gas, here were I live.. That is why I usually add some fuel stabilizer in in my tank every now and then..
