pedal box

hi
has anyone tried an accelerator PedalBox

there is a huge amount of debate as to weather they work or not,
and with an auto trans it would be hard to tell

but with a manual trans attempting to overcome the manufacturer built in flat spot off idle is a pain.

apparently all drive by wire cars have it to varying degrees. mostly noticeable with manual trans.

i have a sportage and while this is NOT the sportage forum i find most sportage owners just drive then and don't mod them and most are autos.

ive done the throttle pedal mod and drive mostly with the DSC turned off.

im tempted to try a "Pedal Box" (google it) but the $300 is slowing me down.

any FIRST HAND experience?, I'm not interested in a hypothetical discussion on why they may or may not work,

only interested in FIRST HAND experience.

thanks for reading

Interesting addition, I plugged my scanner in running torque lite and
monitored the throttle plate opening.
When coasting at around 35 mph it showed 15% open and the
minute I touched the accelerator pedal to speed up the throttle
place immediately closed to 12% along with the flat spot, then
opened up and off we went.

So I guess that’s what I’m trying to cure, hence the interest in
pedal box as a solution, as opposed to reprograming

i originally posted here in the missguided belief that some on this forum might
be interested in performance.
obviously not.

so i got my pedal box, throttle controller, and i guess as know one is performance orientated
no one cares, so i won't bother boring you with the details

As you asked for only FIRST HAND experience...I guess you're right!
NOW if you care to have SOME discussion, On a Dodge Forum I"m very active on there has been some good posts about the brand "Pedal Commander" that sounds like the same thing. YES a bit pricey, but the 3 there report it does work. Although for the Dodge's, there is an EASY throttle pedal calibration that does much the same to eliminate that flat spot on their ETC rides. Can be done DIY in about one minute for them!

point taken, but im stunned and amazed at the low level of interest by owners of these cars.

its not even so much today that they are budget cars as was probably once the case.

for my part im sick of the huge costs associated with ownership of most of the

"quality" marks and instead wanted a basic fairly honest reliable transport.

that said as i have little money invested im happy to muck about with it.

that said maybe im unique. ive never been able to leave a car/boat /house alone

oh well.........................
