hello all,
the same problem like GDGeko's issue,
brand new kia sportage 2017
for two months the issue occured twice, called the dealer, haven't even heard for issue like this
it is very annoying that it can't be replicated for the dealer, so I guess the only thing left is to wait until it gets worse and present the dealer with the problem in action.

thanks guys, it is nice to see that you are not alone

Thumbs down Door won't lock / unlock

I've just had the same problem. Tonight when I went to lock my doors it didn't beep after the first push and I found that one of my side doors was not locking automatically, key fob or door lock buttons... Every other door will lock. Might be the cold weather??

Here's an Out of the Box idea

My problem with the key fob not working is similar to the original post. More over, the key fob works great inside the car; sets the alarm, locks go thunk, everything works as it should. When I step outside the car and close the door neither of my two fobs works (yes, they have fresh batteries).

My problem started immediately after I applied a heavy coat of carnuba wax to the body so I asked my dealership where the RF antenna is. He told me it is in the center of the dash and wired to the frame and thus to the body of the car. I postulated the wax was preventing the RF penetration through the wax and rubbed a spot on the door to thin the wax, et voila! So there's something to throw into the mix of ideas. (I know, it's a long shot).

I just started having the same problem on my 2015 Sedona SX. I have a thread about it posted in the Sedona forum. Sorry, it won't let me post a link. The thread is titled, "Door Locking Misbehavior after Recall - Power Sliding Doors" if you want to view it.

Did either of you get this figured out?

Thanks,
Mike

I had a sticking door lock. I took the door panel off and sprayed some white lithium grease on all of the connections for the lock and handle and worked them all a bit to work the grease in and problem solved. That's been several months ago now.

Sorry for the late late late reply - no. Not figured out. The rear hatch went, too. Currently looking into replacing the actuators.
