Remote Start Question

HI,
I just purchased a 2016 Sedona (used) and am looking at adding a remote start. One place i went to dis aftermarket remotes starts and said the power sliding doors will not work when its started with the remote.
Anybody with the factory kia remote start could you tell me if you can use the power doors while it is running?
Has anyone installed the kia remote start themselves, was it difficult?

By the way my car has a key, it is not push button start.

I appreciate any help on this.

Thanks

With the smart key, the power doors still work while it's remote running. I can either use the remote to open the doors or by pulling the door handle (while holding the key).

Mine is the factory remote start. Might be worth comparing the price of that to aftermarket. Kia parts and service seem pretty reasonable so far, compared to American and German brands anyway.

+1 on that. I read a write up of somebody installing the factory remote and with the exception of removing part of the dash to the left of the steering wheel to access a connector, the rest seemed pretty easy. May be somewhere on this forum.

I installed the Kia remote start system myself on our 2016 Sedona, it actually pretty simple, just need to have patience and be willing to stand on your head at times to plug in a connector or zip tie something, I bought the kit on eBay for around $250,, install took probably 2 hours, comes with very good instructions and your pretty much just unplugging factory connectors and plugging remote start connections in and then plugging back in factory connections , as for the doors I believe once you start the vehicle with remote start remote you can unlock driver door by 2 presses on the button, and then press 2 times again to unlock all doors, and yes the power doors will work but once you unlock doors you have 30 seconds to install key or vehicle shuts off, I'm not particularly found off the system for a couple reasons but for the price I paid and ease of install and that's it factory, I'll take it

Is this for the real key or smart key version? Looking to order one myself for my 2016 Sedona with smart key.

I installed one already on my former 2016 Sorento and it was easy as pie. Dealership wanted $500 for the part and 4 hours labor to install it. I ordered it for around $250 on Ebay and it took me 1.5 hours (and I had never done anything like that before).

I have a 2016 Sedona with push button start. I purchased a Kia OEM remote start system and installed it myself. Very easy. Took about 1-1.5 hours and you'll a ton on labor. Also I recommend you check ebay for these. They will be under $300. Always go with OEM. Don't go aftermarket.
