07 Rondo Doesn't want to go in gear

I have a 07 Rondo V6, and I noticed over a few months it was acting weird. It didn't respond to the "drive" position gear. I put it in "D" from backing out and it doesn't respond. The "D" doesn't appear in the gauge indicator and it acts like its in Neutral. I works sometimes but 70% of the time it doesn't respond to "drive". The stick lever can go in the drive position but the engine trans doesn't respond to the D gear to move the car forward.

Checked trans fluid it appears full.
When it does go in gear it acts fine and drives fine. Great! Now its an unreliable means of transportation.

Ideas?

Because the "D" doesn't show I would believe that you have a problem with the transmission mode selector switch located on the top of the transmission... The shift lever does move some mechanical parts but it also moves this switch which sends information to the display and also the TCM (transmission control module)... If the TCM doesn't "see" that drive is selected it won't go into gear...

The switch is open to the weather and corrosion can happen to it's internal contacts... Also transmissions of this era should have the transmission fluid drained and refilled every 30k miles as per the owners manual...

Ok thanks. How do I go about locating said "transmission mode selector switch"?
