I had a 2004 Optima (EX V6) and I traded it in at 180,000 miles. The fuel pump was going out and an air bag sensor was out in the front passenger's seat. Total cost to fix would have been $1,500. Traded it in for a 2013 Forte. Forte now has over 20,000 miles. I have a 2005 Mazda MPV (130,000) which had 59,000 miles when I bought it, that seems to be a lot less reliable than my old Optima. I love my minivan, but the check engine light is on and I fear taking it to a mechanic. The dealer already told me I needed over $1,000 in maintenance. The van drives fine, but the light comes on intermittently. Last time it cost me about $400 worth of hoses and other parts and actually ended up being the gas cap! I miss my old Optima, she was reliable and paid off. I see another blue one in my town and I have nothing but good memories of my old one...

they drive about 30000miles a year. and change oils everg 5000 to 6000 miles.
nothing special done to the car. just check when car behaves wierd.

i sold 2000 sonata 2.4 manual with 260,000miles car runs good.
but both car need about 1 qt of oil fill up between every oil changes..

seems rings of pistons worned and burns oil.

Aside from a few problems with the A/C system, a replaced front axle, and an oil pan (because I bottomed out on a tree stump), I haven't had any problems out of this car. I did have to do the balance shaft belt and the crank shaft position sensor within the last 100 miles, though. All-in-all, a great learning experience even though it was a pain in the butt to get the timing belt exactly right. It's been a great car!

I was curious as to what mileage everyone else had put on their Kia's, and how they've treated you. Sort of a "high mileage club", I guess. Sorry if this has been asked before.
I know this thread is about Kia, but I have a friend in Illinois who had a 1999 Hyundai (a relative to Kia) Elantra and put 247,000 miles on it with the original clutch and gearbox and it was still running like a charm . He traded it in though cause was worried.

I drive a 2011 KIA Optima SX-Turbo, it has over 201,000 miles on it. I work at KIA motors near the center of the state of Indiana, I beleive I have the highest mile new generation KIA (2011-present) at least in my state of not in the midwest. My car was purchased at 177,000 miles from a travleing salesman who drove this K5 absolutly all over the U.S. My car still has the original engine, trans, suspention, and it runs like a dream. The oil in changes every 3k miles on the dot and the ONLY problem Ive had with her since Ive owned it was the wastegate failed and had to be replaced, only costed my a few hundrew bucks including the labor at my dealership.

Pretty much all of my Kias are high mileage. I have an almost unbelievable 108k miles on my 2014 Forte. My 06 Sedonas are sitting at 256k and 278k miles. My 15 Sedona already has 26k miles on it, and I have a 2011 Sportage and Forte 5-door that are both between 110-120k.

My 2007 Sedona EX has 189,000 miles with only normal maintenance. I do most of the work myself. It's my miracle car because I have recklessly abused it - I can't understand why the transmission still works, for example (it wasn't designed to race against pickup trucks on mountain roads, etc.).

My dad has a 2007 Kia Sedona that he uses for work. The car has never broke down, and the motor has hardly been worked on. The car has had 7 new sets of tires. As of today, Ol Bessie (the car) has 452,238 miles and is still going strong.

My 2007 Sedona EX turned 200,000 trouble-free miles earlier this month! I see that it is one of the "lower mileage" Kias on this thread.
