Hello everyone,
I'm having weird problem with bluetooth on my kia vehicle.
i have 2019 sportage ex and the BT is really acting up. it'd connect without any problems but after 3-5 minutes of playing spotify the music stream just becomes choppy. sometimes it'd silence for ~5 seconds or so (but the song continues as the lyrics go on...). i tried to reset to factory; tested with 3 phones (oneplus 6t, galaxy note 9 and iphone 8) -- no go...
if anyone got into this and found a workaround or fix, could you please share?
I was literally just yelling at my radio for this, again! I have a galaxy note 9 connected to 2019 sportage and would LOVE to know how to fix this as well!
I would agree, except all my music is downloaded on my phone to avoid crappy data connections interrupting my music. I've never had an issue with my phone connected to any other bluetooth device either.
Best solution would be to download your music to a flash drive and not your phone. I download my mp3's at a higher bit rate (320Kbps) and they sound fantastic.
I also transfer my favorite songs to 'My Music'.
I do the same as SSportage does. The music quality, radio and Bluetooth work near flawlessly in my 17 LX. The CD player is just an added benefit of the 17 LX.
My phone takes about 10 to 15 seconds to connect which isn't all that bad but my LG phone works exceptional with the Bluetooth on everything.
I get no warnings with my car.
the wired/usb_plugged_in connections work fine; it's only the BT. connection takes ~10sec but the music quality is sh#t, phone conversations are okay. i think there's something with buffer overflow during HQ music transfer from phone to car over BT. i'm wondering if this is a firmware issue. i tried to google for firmware update with no results. could anyone pin point to where i can DL it?
I found out that the reason the bluetooth takes so long to connect to my phone and, vice versa, why it's taking so long for my phone to connect to the bluetooth in my Kia, has to do with the fact that I use the bluetooth for media only with calls turned off. For some reason that causes a delay, whereas if enable the bluetooth for calls and media, bluetooth connects within 4 seconds of turning on the vehicle.
Why? You should be using the hands free capability of your system for safety reasons. The system will always try to find a phone before connecting anything else on bluetooth -- and that's the way it should be in a car...
