Intermittently A/C blows warm

Hello everyone. My 2017 Sportage lx, (manual temp control) has an issue with the a/c. The air coming from the vents is sometimes warm and sometimes ice cold. As luck would have it on the day my dealer looked at it it was working fine. The day after the dealer looking at it and finding no problem. Its doing the same thing. The dealer checked freon level and supposedly everything else. Anyone else have issues like this? And im 100% sure the controls are in the correct position. Thanks All

There was an update for my 2017 SX at one time for the HVAC system. It's getting warmer here in Denver and today I noticed that my
AC was not working very well. I have an oil change in about 3 weeks and hope my service department can correct my problem.
Mine never blows warm air but it doesn't blow very cold air either.

There have been numerous TSBs regarding the A/C system, both inspection and firmware reprogramming. Might want to take it in and have them look it all over to see if any of them applies.

My 17 LX was doing the same thing right after I purchased it. Kia came out with a service bulletin to replace a sensor on the air conditioner system and that fixed the cooling problem I had. If memory serves me well the recall affected most all of the sportage's back then.

I think there was a recall for stuck expansion valve, mine had it done early and some sort of firmware for the manual control ac. Worked wonders later on, but now I notice that when I turn it on it takes a while to cool. It blows warm air like for 30+ seconds, which is kinda too much comparing it to when I bought it or after the firmware update. After those 30+ seconds pass, it works perfectly fine then. In OP's case, if you took it to the dealer and the firmware update and valve recall has been done already, check if you notice a difference in Temps while changing them on the dial, for example if you have it on the cool setting, move the dial all the way to the hot side and put your hand in front of the vent and see if you notice the Temps going up. If for example it says the same it could be the blend door actuator (basically an electronic servo) may be stuck or damaged. If you get a very hot air on the hot setting and when you dial it up to cool again it reduces the temp but only to warm then there's a problem with the compressor side of things.

And please, remember to verify / replace ac cabin filter if you haven't done it yet. Keep us posted.
