A tip for those with reverse camera

If you think that the vision you're getting is a little blurry, you might want to check the camera. After owning the car for 3 weeks I finally found out that the dealership forgot to take the plastic cover off of it Now with it up it is a lot clearer obviously

I do think the camera at night is terrible though. Comparing it with others, it's too grainy. I would think that if we had a better camera, prices of this vehicle would increase, so I guess I am happy with what we have.

Also keep in mind that it is only a tiny lens, therefore doesn't need much road grime on it to turn the image to crap too. I keep a cloth in the back cargo net for a quick wipe whenever it is wet, muddy, dusty.

Old enough to know better . . . . too old to care!

Be carfull that the cloth is clean. Each speck of dust in the cloth may scratch your lens. The wet wipes to clean the baby's buttocks are perfectly.

I had the same issue with the protective plastic still on the rear camera lens after I took delivery of the vehicle. The image I get with the Kia camera is much better than the one I had with the after market rear camera on my old CRV.

In the below photo in the right hand bottom corner you can see part of my plate and the body of the car.

Do all Sportage cameras do this?

Yep mine does anyway. I can just see the plate and some of the bodywork just like in your picture.
