New Radiator

So, after paying $1200 bucks for a new AC compressor I expected my air to be like new. It worked great while driving, but when stopped at lights, not so much.

Before I took it back to Carlife, I did a little digging and found a bad or blocked radiator can cause that type of symptom since when stopped at lights, the fan blows through the radiator before hitting the ac fins so it made sense to me.

My other Kia had a radiator rupture around the same miles so I went ahead and order a new one and replaced. Also replaced the hoses and thermostat while I was in there.

As you can see from the pictures, the old had seen better days. Included a pic of new one to show the difference.

Now, when stopped at lights I don't notice a difference in the air. It works great again.

As easy as putting a radiator usually is, it wasn't. Took me all afternoon. I did take a lot of breaks because it was 112 outside and probably 120 in my garage even with the huge shop fan I had running.

I've made a habit of rinsing out the radiator and condenser each spring on all my vehicles. This makes a tangible improvement each time.
