Radio Upgrade

Just bought a used 2019 Sorento LX without SiriusXM radio and really would like a SiriusXM radio but want to keep all the features of the 2019 radio, such as Android Auto capability and the steering wheel controls, etc.

I saw a OEM 2016 Sorento radio with Sirius XM on Ebay for sale. It looks exactly like the size & shape of the radio in my 2019 with similar function buttons and was wondering if it would work in my 2019.

I would appreciate any info. / advice anyone has that has some knowledge about upgrading.

Thanks in advance.

You would need a SiriusXM antenna, the connector in the back of the Radio is yellow for the antenna, is should use this connector Search Amazon
"Eightwood Satellite Radio Antenna Adapter Cable 6" Fakra Curry Code K Male to SMB Female Right Angle for Sirius XM Car Vehicle Radio Stereo Receiver Tuner"
and you would need the SiriusXM antenna, I don't know what the OEM part is

Thanks for that link.

So do you know if the OEM SiriusXM radio has two antenna inputs, one for the SiriusXM antenna and a second for the AM/FM radio, or just the one input ?

I found a generic shark fin XM radio antenna on Ebay, BTW.

Thanks again paragod.

Well, I did some research and have learned a few things.

I went to an OEM KIA online parts seller and got the OEM PN for the 2019 Sorento AM/FM/CD/SiriusXM and there was one on Ebay so I bought it. So far, so good.

Now for the antenna situation. The OEM AM/FM/XM shark fin antenna is pricey, about $210. I found an aftermarket AM/FM/XM shark fin antenna online for about $60. And I found an aftermarket shark fin XM antenna for about $30.

So, when I have the time - may be a few months, I'll take a look under the headliner at the rod antenna and see if there is a cable connector near the antenna. Hopefully there is. I think there will be because the OEM parts list shows a separate cable for each antenna. That may make the job easier. But I'll still need to run the XM cable to the back of the new radio.

I'm in the same situation. Bought a 2019 Sorento LX with the base non/XM radio. It has the following pinouts in the back

It appears I'll need to add an XM antenna.

I found on Ebay this radio "96160-C6600WK" which is listed on the OEMParts site as the Sirius radio for the 2019 Sorento LX.

The challenge is figuring out what wiring is for the extra white plug "C" ??? I think this radio is for the OEM amplifier.

Any thoughts???
