Car Seats

Hello all,

My wife needs a new car, and her Forte has been great, so we are looking at Kias again. I have looked at the Sorento as a possibility, but have a few questions.

Are there any significant known issues with the 2016-2019 models? I see some have some issues with the 4cyl engine.

Does anyone have multiple child seats in the back (mostly looking for people with rear facing seats)? We currently have one (1.5 year old) in a rear facing seat, and will eventually have another child so two car seats. At that point, the 1.5 year old will be forward facing and will be behind the driver, but the new child will be in the infant seat behind the passenger. Anyone do this? Do you have enough room?

I have 2019 4 cylinder model, but no major problem so far.

There is more than enough room in the 2nd row.

While I would always go for the V6 in a Sorento, I also have a 2016 Sonata with the 4 cyl. No issues at all and it is pretty much a rocket.

I have an infant seat, a standard booster and a DionoRXT in the back row. No issues and not even cramped, mind you that the Diono is a 3 in-a-row type of child seat. If you take a cheap seat from walmart they are often much wider.

I have a Chicco Keyfit 30 rear facing seat in mine behind the driver seat. I did have to shift the driver seat forward slightly to make it a bit easier to insert and remove. I am 5'-10".
