Won’t it only auto dim when it's dark? To dim the dash, you used the brightness buttons to the left of the steering wheel? Those don’t control the screen brightness in my 2019.

The screen on our 2019 stays pretty bright, which bothers me a bit.

Nor in my 2016. Definitely controlled by the same ambient light sensor that triggers the auto-headlights.

So the dimmer switch controls both BUT it only works when the sensor on the dash detects darkness.

In my case, when its dark out only the dash dims but not the screen.

I cover the dash sensor with my hand, the headlights come on and dash dims. But the screen stays bright.

Try experimenting with the auto headlight sensitivity setting.

I have a 2016 SX. Is auto headlight a standard feature? Where is the sensor?

? Have never seen any adjustment for this, and it seems the SXL has an adjustment for just about everything. At one time, for those who wanted the lights to come on SOONER, we recommended a little 20% neutral density film over the sensor on the dash, or something like it.
