Sorento SXL 6000K HID swap

This turned out to be plug and play kit. Even looks like stock D3S bulbs. Amazing quality, packaging and warranty. They even gave special gloves to swap them. More light output as well compared to the 4000K yellowish stockers.

Just two precautions:

Be careful to not strip the stock screws and losing them in the enclosure. I used a magnetic pickup to be secure

Use the covers from the new bulbs on the old bulbs while handling and storing them. Also transfer the coil spring bushings from the stock bulbs onto the new bulbs.

Stock removed

RCP installed

Yeah, they sucked. See the difference between stockers. LEDs burn out quite soon.

Stock Osram vs RCP

Your product packaging, per your photo, indicates that you purchased the 66340HBI lamps.

The Xenarc Lightbreaker Laser: 4650K. That's the 66340HBI.
The Xenarc Cool Blue Intense: Spec'd by Osram at 6000K. Those are the 66340CBI.

So you may want to have a closer look at what you think you have vs. what you got.

I had two bikes in the garage when I found out I had Stage 3 1/2 Colon Cancer. I was pretty sure I would not survive the cancer so instead of leaving my wife with two bikes to get rid of, I sold the R1 and kept my FJR1300. BUT, now 10 years cancer free but at 76 years old next month and a total unexplained hearing loss in my left ear and the loss of equilibrium because of it and a few other issues, I had to give it up. Let me assure you, the Golden Years do suck!

On the other hand, I would like the details about your HID's. I'm happy with my LED's, but if they don't last, I would be interested in the HID's.

BTW, do you know Lance Keigwin?

That sucks but hey you are cancer free. Much respect to all of you riders riding into their 70s. I have couple of riding buddies 78 and 70. 78 year guy still rides a GSXR750 and humbles many in the backroads. I go for trackdays with the 70 year old. I can only wish I am able to ride into my 70s.

Ya have done a few trackdays with keigwins
