19 Sorento tire wall blew up, only 3k miles in it.

Hello! My 2019 Kia Sorento only has 3k miles on it and last night a tire wall blew up, I don't recall hitting a pothole but anyway.
I called the dealership and they said if I didn't purchase tire warranty -i didnt- then I have to buy a new tire out of pockets.
Any of you have gone through this before? Any insight? Can I claim it through the tire manufacturer?
Extra info: it's a leased 2019 ex. 3k miles, no service done yet, the rim didn't suffer.

Really appreciate it

Tires (even on a brand new vehicle) are generally not covered under mfg warranty, unless purchased at time of "sale" and would be more of a road hazard warranty. In my opinion the dealer gave you the proper "scoop". All it takes to blow a sidewall on a tire is to hit something like a curb or concrete parking stop in just the wrong way with the side of a tire, it is not just a "pot hole" deal that can ruin a tier. Good Luck!

Thank you!
I kinda figured... Funny thing is that I'm very careful with my truck, it was a smooth ride I was having when the thing got completely flat without my feeling any bumps on the road. Well thank you much for you input

They (KIA) should supply you with the tire manufacturers warranty pamphlet within your owners manual packet... This should describe the warranty that you SHOULD have on the tires supplied with the new car... If not contact the tire manufacturer directly...
You should have a warranty on a tire that has only 3k mile on it...

If there's no evidence of impact damage and driving it flat didn't cause additional damage, Kia should take care of it or at least point you to the tire supplier's contact.

Quality and not quantity counts.

Out of curiosity, what is the name and model of the blown out tire. I also have the 2019 Sorento EX and it has the Nexen PRiz tires. I'm wondering if that is something I need to worry about.

Nexen is also Korean manufacture, so would expect the quality to be fair, unlike some Chinese brands.

Nexen Npriz NH7 all season... Surprisingly I had Nexen tires on my 2015 optima, only had a flat once, returned the car with 36k miles and never changed the tires, the tread was still good. I'm a bit surprised this happened tbh

If the tire was defective, wouldn't it have a warranty from the manufacturer?
