Performance wise everything I've seen shows HID's as the golden ticket in projectors. I'll have to see how the electronics get along once I get it and test it. They are a reputable higher end brand just under Morimoto.

Well went ahead and got the HID's installed. So far so good. Light output is certainly better but I think I need some better adapters. The plastic ones I got from Amazon are flimsy. I think I need to tweak my passenger side a bit because the hotspot isn't as defined as the driver side. These were supposed to be 5000k but they are certainly more blue than white, so I imagine they are more like 6000k.

I also went ahead and threw on Uhaul hitch that my local place had in stock. Same thing as a Curt hitch I believe. The ugly Uhaul sticker has already been ripped off.

Like and prefer the bluish tint. Looks like a 6000K to me which I have always bought for cars and motorcycles for 10+ years now.

I think you start to get a touch of blue at closer to 6,450. The Hikari Ultra's are rated at 6,000 but I recall reading on Bulb Facts they are closer to 6,500. They look good to me!

Thanks I do like the color it just doesn't match as well with the LEDs on the headlight.

I was looking at the HIDs on the DeAutoled HID site and I didn't see any HID bulbs for projector housing. All I saw was the HID bulbs for reflector housings. Do the make an HID bulb for projector housings like the 2019 Sorento has?

HID Headlight Kit - Slim Digital Ballast and High Power UV coated HID bulbs | deAutoLED

Thats the ones I have I think. I told them I drive a sorento with projectors and they sent me projector ones. I would maybe order some Sorento specific ones though if I were to do it again. Light output is good but the adapter from Amazon sucks. I have to figure out a better way to do that.

Also, this website is really useful!

As for hitches, most use the Curt hitch. I got mine for etrailers and it wasn't hard to install (a second set of hands is useful for one part of the install though).

I have 55,000 miles on my Sorento and really like it. It is just the right size and is a great all around vehicle for our family. I even take it on the surf beach it is does amazing!
I just ordered the Curt Hitch, I'm waiting for it to arrive. Did you need to remove the spare tire to install? Any tips on installing it?

Yes, the spare tire has to be lowered and then when it is put back in you kind of have to tilt to get it in there (it is pretty easy). I did mine over 3 years ago but from what I recall, the only tricky thing is getting the right side bolted in (I recall doing a left bolt first). I needed an extra set of hands to hold it level. Other than that, it wasn't too bad. I did mine with it parked on the garage floor.
