Has anyone had any good success? Which ones have you tried that you liked? Some had mentioned ones on ebay but it's always hard to tell which might be a good fit and work well.

It seems that the fan assemblies on these would be very tight I measure and there is not much more than 30mm from the ring that retains the bulb to the dust cap. Most of the fans seem to exhaust out the back toward the dust cap.

Has anyone tried a fanless one? If so I'd like some long term experience and impressions if there are any out there.

Thanks!

Hi.

Hope someone can put in their two cents.

Based on most/all of the threads I have read on LED/HID installs, am I correct in stating that it doesn't matter if we are changing to LEDs or HIDs, but we will ALWAYS need bulb adapters for the LED/HID bulbs to fit?

For any of the "off the shelf" ones you would get from Amazon or eBay, yes. The reason is that the socked that the bulb plugs into is what secures the bulb in place, and it can't be used in that way with LED or HID.

The more expensive types from places like DDM can sometimes be manufactured to drop right in.

Zdatt LED H7 high beams

I got some Zdatt 6000lm/bulb (50w/ea) bulbs from China/Aliexpress for $26/pr and they look almost exactly like the $90 Hikari and $50 Nineo bulbs on Amazon:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Zda...-Led-Bulb-H8-H9-H11-9005-HB3/32810232973.html

I also got the prescribed $1 adapter from eBay/China, K3 K4 K5:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-H7-LED-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

My instructions:
1. Remove the dust cap, and remove one original H7, taking note of orientation.
2. Remove/twist off the metal "base" from the LED bulb, removing it off the front/LED part of the bulb.
3. Fit the H7 adapter in an orientation that matches the original base orientation, but puts the LEDs pointing at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, like a knife blade vertical.
4. Twist on the metal base from the LED bulb, ensuring the H7 adpater has a snug fit. (The Zdatt's fins positioned the adapter for me, and the LED bulb cord was positioned down)
5. Attempt to put the bulb into the socket, pre-pressing the plastic adapter down if you need to, and using a skinny flathead screwdriver to assist with getting the plastic tabs under the mounting socket notches. This is definitely the hardest part.
6. Plug in the bulb, test as needed, stuff the cables and driver into the bulb housing, ensuring that the wires and sockets don't come into contact with the fan/heatsink.
7. Install dust cap, repeat on other side, and enjoy!

My results were pretty spectacular. The original H7 "hotspot" seemed just as bright, except the hotspot was a hot "area". The beam pattern isn't as perfect as the low beam HID bulbs, but still a marvelous improvement, especially for the cost.

I put all of my photos here:

Of note: I kept the same camera settings (shutter/aperture/ISO) for the comparison pictures, and covered up the low beam HIDs.

Amazon.com: Led Headlight Bulb Conversion Kit-H7,Extremely Bright 12x CSP Chips - 9600lm 6000k Xenon White, 2 Yr Warranty: Automotive Seems like design changed a bit larger ..

Only worse part is that now the stock HIDs seem even a bit more yellow than before... anyway to swap those HIDs out. I have the DRL mod so have seen the headlight assembly. Changing out the stock HIDs difficult and you have to cut wires which I don't want to.

Can anyone comment on whether or not these work on a Canadian non-HID Sorento in both high beam and low voltage DRL mode? I haven’t had any success finding something that will work for both without error.

Amazon.com: NINEO H7 LED Headlight Bulbs,CREE Chips 12000Lm 5090Lux 6500K Extremely Bright All-in-One Conversion Kit,360 Degree Adjustable Beam Angle: Automotive

are just slightly more, this is the version 2 of their design much smaller, much easier to install, i currently have them intalled as high and low beams same h7 both sockets, and they work like they are supposed to , i don't see why the drls wouldn't function.

the biggest thing i would watch out for is making sure your vehicle is not Can-bus if it is will require special bulbs.

My biggest thing with the bulbs you chose, are they don't use the Cree chip, i have had bad experiences with knock-offs.

I also just bought the NINEO H7 LED and adapter for use on the high beams and it was plug and play on my 2016 Sorento SXL.
Much brighter than original Halogen high beam bulbs!

Used the following:
- Amazon Canada product B01MFABBZW (NINEO H7 LED Headlight Bulbs | CREE Chips 12000Lm 6500K Extremely Bright All-in-One Conversion Kit | 360 Degree Adjustable Beam Angle)

- eBay Canada # 113654203312 (2pcs H7 LED Headlight Bulb Adapter Base Retainer Holder For Kia Sportage Sorento)
