DRL modules installed/ bumper removal

I have finally installed the DRL modules I got from member josuet. I have an SXL so it is not straight forward and not how the instructions explain it. But josuet helped me some and answered all my questions. This was the only way I got the confidence to install these. He suggested removing the bumper which I refused. But he convinced me that it wasn't so complicated and sent me literature on it. I recorded some of it and post it on YouTube. In order to install the modules I had to remove the headlamps which wasn't hard at all. Most of what is needed is accessed on the bottom of the headlamp. I did this by myself so it took me a while. But happy with the results. I have a few pics of the wiring and the headlamp. Only have one pic of the DRL's on. But it's still daytime so will take some pics when it gets dark.

This the access to the bottom. The round piece comes of with a twist and I also removed the silver square piece which has 2 connectors on it.

This is what's underneath. Connector on the right is for the led which you have to unplug. The connector on the left has a light brown wire that is used with the module. I found that access it here is easier than anywhere else.

This is the high beam where the black wire is needed for ground. The instructions say the both are green which might be the case in Canada luckily its not here so black is ground.

This is the end result. Headlights and parking lights are off. Will post more later.

I'm glad I got this done as I had DRL jealousy from other vehicles lol.

My DRL jealousy just went up two notches >:D seeing your pictures. Great that you were able to get this done.

I've been suggesting that if @josuet went into business with sufficient Kia Sorento's around he might make a living off these upgrades .....

Would probably be quicker on the LX. Just depends on which type of headlights you have. I have the HID with auto leveling and there are a lot of parts inside the headlamps. Yes they are the eyebrows which Kia calls the positioning lights. They are LED. I think all models have these no matter what type of headlamp. So yes the LX has this capability.

what other options are there? I'm guessing they have totally blanked out options., if you want the matte black look w/no chrome anywhere It would be even nicer if they had a modified grill with no logo...now that would really freak people out. I never did like advertising for car manufacturers nor stealerships.

Took pics in the sunlight from a distance. Once again the camera can't see it well and it doesn't do it justice.

@jostnyc - thanks for the pictures. definitely helpful for me.

Wondering if you have had anyone tell you how these eyebrow LEDs look in their rear view mirror (which IMO is where the visibility of the LEDs matters). Thanks

You could but it would need some thinking. Do you want your high beams to run as DRLs (along with the led strips) at full or reduced voltage? Anyway the custom modules arent designed to withstand that much current...power would have to come straight from the fuse bix.
