LED light bar with cargo basket

So my plan for this was to mount up a Yakima Loadwarrior with a 32" LED light bar in the front of it. Im going to replace the black wind deflector with a clear plexiglass one ill make so the light bar is protected and still usable. Im also using weatherpack connectors from the harness to the light bar, so I can easily remove the basket/light combo and set it aside for storage or use it on another one of our vehicles.

This is the universal kit I bought and used for the wire harness ($11.95 when I bought it): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Im pretty OCD when it comes to wiring. If its possible to not see the wires, im going to try. I also want it to look OEM/clean if you do see it.

So here is where I mounted the relay (green circle) and ran the positive/negative cable connections

Here is a look with all the caps/covers back on. The green lines are where I ran the harness. The power supply to the lights runs up the drivers side fender under all the trim, the other goes under the fuse box and through the firewall with the main harness of the car.

I was able to unbolt the first 3 bolts of the OEM roof rails. This gave me enough wiggle room to feed the harness under it and out the other side.

As of right now, the harness is zip tied to the OEM roof rail as I ran out of time yesterday. The switch is in the cabin just hanging out behind the lower fuse panel for now till i decide where I want to permanently mount it.

Today Im going to mount the LED light bar to the basket. Once that's done, I can mount the basket to the car and determine cable length from the LED bar and car harness before trimming and installing the weatherpack connectors.

These are the mounts I used for the LED bar to the Yakima basket ($14.99 when I bought them): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Im going to have to modify them a bit for a better/tighter fit. One of those, you get what you pay for type thing, but they work well enough.
This is a rough pic of test mounting the LED bar to the basket last night.

Ill post/update as more gets finished with the project. Hoping to have it all done by mid week, including the new plexi cut out. We're heading to our cabin next Friday and would love to test this out in the woods at night!

Thank you.

Got the LED bar mounted to the basket today. Ran out of time to do the weatherpack connectors.

Started a 1965 GT Fastback project this afternoon. So there's more of my time gone lol.

i'd use thicker gauge wire than that harness you have. use the distance/gauge chart. for that distance, you'd need at least 10gauge to supply enough amps so to not over-heat the wire

Not to be a bad omen but, but I think the Plexiglas's angle will create a significant amount of light deflection....did you try it already?

Yea I was kinda thinking about that too before I put it on.

The main focus of the light seems pretty high in front of my garage, but since its so close from the front of the car, I cant tell if its being deflected up or just from sitting so high up on the car.

We're heading to our cabin this weekend, so I should be able to test it out in the middle of no where without any other lights around to get a more accurate test. The LED bar is mainly for off-road use.. so whenever we're out at the cabin or driving down a road late at night with no other cars around.

I certainly wouldnt use this driving around the highway and blind everyone around me lol.
