I just ordered a Curt 5,000 lb hitch and wiring kit from Rock Auto. Looks like I saved about $100 compared to the MSRP cost, even after paying for shipping.

There is a couple of good videos on etrailer.com specific to the Sorento. All the holes are pre-drilled and tapped for the hardware included so it's more a matter of having a helping hand to horse it around. If you get the proper wiring harness, it's a plug and play operation that takes five minutes. Etrailer was also the best shipped price I found (bought their brand which is actually a Hidden Hitch product) and I liked the fact that it had the bracket to attach the lighting plug to the hitch. Some people have recommended getting the pliers that are made specifically to release the exhaust hangers but I had no problem with a good amount of lubricant and a large screwdriver.

I think only the draw-tite had the plug attachment welded on to the hitch itself.

Quick question....
How can I tell if I have the factory pre-wire installed?
I have a 2016 SXL 2.0 Turbo. It is pretty much loaded but I'm not sure what I'm looking for with the pre-wire.
Thanks

All V6 and I am pretty sure the Turbo 4 are set up for a quick connect wire harness. It will be under the vehicle body behind the rear wheel. Left side on a V6, not sure about the Turbo 4. There will be two connectors that don't go anywhere. They will have block off plugs to keep them clean. A two pin and a four pin. These connectors are for the common trailer lighting four pin harness. Only real trucks will be set up for an easy connection of a brake controller.
