2014 Sorento SX Help Please

Hello,

Looking to see if someone can take a picture of the underside (rear) of their 2014 Kia Sorento SX w/out a hitch installed. I recently purchased one and removed the hitch that was on it and not am looking to see if any under covers are to be installed on the underside? While washing it I noticed a lot of build-up on the underside of the bumper and on our EX there where under covers installed - part #'s 86695-1U500 and 86696-1U500. I tried to install those part #'s and they do not fit. Am confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe they did not install them on the SX? Can't imagine because there was a ton of salt/small stones and etc.. built up under there. If you could snap a picture of the underside that would be greatly appreciated of if you have any other input. Many thanks!!!

First I thought ONE meant a new hitch...like heavier model....but I guess now that ONE means the Sori....
My 2015 (base model) I bought without a hitch had nothing I could identify as a cover...and I have installed myself the 2" hitch the KIA dealer provided me .

Bought in Oct 2016 at 55000km, now (Apr 2019) at 73000 km. I like cars...

Thanks for the reply... actually am looking to see if the SX comes with factory under covers just back of the wheel wells on the left and right side of the vehicle. On our 2014 EX they come with them from the factory and they are there (i think) to take up space, add some rigidity and also help keep salt, sand and etc... from getting up in the rear bumper area.

I have attached the "open area" that seems like there should be something installed in so you can see. I have also attached pictures of the "under covers" that were installed on our 2014 EX but for some reason they do not fit our 2014 Sorento SX model. So, wondering if the SX did not come with them or if there are different part #'s for the SX.

Am hoping someone can post a picture of a 2014 SX so I can see if that space is empty just like the pics I attached to this post.

Any help would be appreciated...

Many thanks,

Jamie

When I was installing a hitch on my 2014, I didn't have to remove anything, nor was there any type of splash guard or undercarriage covers. I thought the same thing that there should of been something there.

Nope, no covers, which I also found strange when I installed my hitch..

And yours is a 2014 SX? Yeah, there was a ton of build up from winter road debris when I was under there last night to try and install the under covers from our 2014 EX and just assumed the ones from the EX would work on the SX but maybe the bumper covers and etc.. do not match the EX's like I figured they would. Have you had any issues at all due to there not being any under covers? There is a wire bundle on the L/H (driver side) that really worries me... maybe I don't need to be worried but seems weird to me not to have anything.

Thanks for the reply and let me know any other thoughts you have on it.

Appreciate it.

Cannot imagine why they would not have any on the SX's but do have them on the EX's... weird for sure

The wires are where the harness for a trailer plugs in - mine had caps protecting the connections that had to be removed.

Gotcha... have you had any issues at all with them being rather exposed in that area?

Thanks much

EH.....a picture is worth a thousand words....I just remember now ..and went to verify..that indeed i HAVE THOSE splash guards...I had to remove them to install my hitch and as instructed I had to cut a small notch on the left side (maybe to the right too, not sure) to make room for the hitch .

but..I cannot think that there can be a difference between same year models.....except one is a two row seater and the other is a three rows....is that possible ? Details like this can explain differences....

Bought in Oct 2016 at 55000km, now (Apr 2019) at 73000 km. I like cars...
