Weird Issues with 2013 Sorento

So recently our 2013 Sorento has decided the at the clock and radio have decided to quit working (initially, it was intermittent but after hitting a pot hole it is constant). Additionally, the electric door locks will not open with the keyfob, however they do work with the buttons on the door. Also, the Airbag light is on. A friend of mine ran a scan and said the code indicated a 'ground fault' on the driver side seat sensor. I do not remember the exact code.

May question is this:

All of this sound like an electrical issue, possibly wire ran under the carpet to the seat. Could all of this be related and if so, what would be the best way to trouble shoot it?

It could be any number of things. I'd start with looking for corrosion on the battery terminals, then looking at all the grounding cables/straps, reseating the connector(s) on the ECU, etc. If a sudden pothole shot made it worse, then a loose connector or corroded/loose ground would be where I'd focus my efforts.

Cheers!

Have you ever replaced the battery? That's the first thing I'd do, unless you've replaced it within the last 4 years or so.

If your battery is relatively new, then clean the connections with a wire brush and make sure they're very tight.

If that doesn't make any difference, I would assume you have a short somewhere. On older cars, this typically happens because some kind of weather stripping or seal is broken and allowing water to short out something.

I would risk $100 to possibly save yourself some headaches and just replace the battery. The problem with getting it tested at Autozone is you have to drive there.. so the battery is charging during that time, and that can give a false reading. The best time to test it is in the morning after it's been sitting all night parked.

But maybe the dealer will check it out for free.. in which case, wait on their analysis.

If the engine is starting fine, then I can't see it being the battery, especially if you've had it tested.
The fact that after you hit a bump, and more electrical items gave out on you, I would have to say that it's a loose ground that would be common to all these components.

Try to find a wiring diagram for your vehicle to try to source any commonality in everything that it giving out on you.
