Engine swap question

Hey all,

I'm brand new to the forum. I bought my 2011 Sorento when they were first rolling off the line way back in late 2009. It's been good up till now with a blown head gasket/cracked block. I'm currently looking for a transplant and have been weighing options. I'm looking at the 2011 Sedona 3.5L engines and so far they're looking to be exactly the same, save a several hundred dollar price difference. A more ambitious project would be the Optima 2.0T engine but I'm guessing that's a hard sell.

Question is do you think it'll be a bolt-on swap or will there be some more work at play here? Questions/comments welcome and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Just wanted to give a quick update to anyone watching the boards. I got the engine taken apart and notice the driver-side far cylinder head bolt had coolant-oil residue on the threads. This is the one going into the water jacket. Engine is fairly easy to disassemble but pay close attention to the sensors and wiring harness positioning. I recommend pictures and LABEL EVERYTHING in baggies or something. Timing cover is a PITA but manageable. The cylinder head bolts are a size 12-12pt socket. The cams use motorcycle like shims rather than traditional lifters also so don't think its weird.

I'm rambling because I have yet to see much written up on a disassemble for our vehicles particularly the 3.5L and it's such a nice car to me I'd hate to just get rid of it. If anyone has questions i'm more than happy to assist and thanks to Kiatechkyle for his advice too!
