Exclamation Sorento Ecu Removal

Can Anybody Tell Me The Location/removal Details For The Engine Ecu 2003 Was Flooded From Cyclone Gonu And Repair By Kia Will Cost More Than Car Is Worth. Have Priced New Ecu(which Is Just The Beginning To Try And Get Engine To Turn) To Replace But Have No Idea Where It Is

But I am sure that this will be moved son anyways...

As for your question, not sure where the ECU is at on your car since its location is different in every car out there. I would wait for a real Sorento owner to respond. My mom owns one, and I am not sure were it is at after looking at her engine bay (wasn't really looking for the ECU though).

I will take a look at her car when she gets home later and I will see if I can locate the ECU and I will respond later if I have any tips for you. If I don't respond, just assume I didn't find it, or haven't had time to look yet.

The last thing to worry about is the ECU if it wont turn..Best to remove front plastic covers and wash out the timing belt area in case of thick sludge or debris...then remove plugs and with coils disconnected power the starter direct to crank it over ..if water comes out plugs then get some parafin or diesel in and leave overnight..then crank again ..change the sump oil and filter ..ifits white water in may need to change rear axle oil /transmission fluid...location of ECU is in the on line manual....good luck
