Front passenger side rumble frustration
I am experiencing a rumbling noise coming i think from front left(passenger side) of vehicle which is Sorento ex 2009 2.5l diesel turbo fwd 198000km. The noise starts at aprox 45km and is more noticeable when throttling off however hardly noticeable at 100km. There is no real noticeable shaking coming through steering wheel, car tracks straight and no obvious drag when braking, rotors are getting quite worn though. It is proving to be difficult to find source. What i have tryed thus far;
Replaced wheel bearing as when i purcased the car about 4000 ks ago i was told the wheel bearing on drivers side had just been replaced. This has made no difference.
I have tryed getting up to about 70km put into neutral and switched off ignition, noise still there.
I have greased uni joints, checked diff, transfed box fluids.
I have disconnected tccs fuse, no difference. Rotated wheels, checked engine mounts, removed front drive shaft. Ball joints, tie rods seam good.
I have removed front left cv axle to check inner cv joint, the grease inside boot was very dark and quite thick(maybe moisture been getting inside although boot still in good shape), cv joint itself seams to have quite a bit of play so am leaning that way but have no experience of how it should be. I Think outer cv is ok as turning in full lock has no obvious noise, however cornering right does seam to make noise get slightly louder as weight shifts to left hand side. Am contemplating buying entire cv axle with cv joints attached, but just wondering if there is something else i should check first. Any help gladly appreciated
