Rear Sway Bar Link Question

Hi

I have to replace the rear sway bar links but when I looked up the parts at Kia there seams to be an extra part that's not on my car. In the first picture I circled the part number of the part I'm talking about, in the second picture you can see it's no where to be seen. So my question is does anyone know where this mystery part is supposed to go.

According to KIA it is called a "Stabilizer Bar Washer".

It may have fused itself together with #5 and looks like a single piece.

Hi

I checked, it's not there,

Something about the first picture has just seemed wrong to me some how, and now I know what it is, it's missing two of the four bushings.

Hi

It turns out part number 7 was there, it reduces the hole size in the top mount so the bolt doesn't move around.

New Question: How far do I need to tighten the new aftermarket sway bar links nut down too?

The new aftermarket sway bar links are slightly different from the originals. The first difference is that the aftermarket uses a single nylon lock nut instead of two jam nuts. The second difference is the bushings that come with the aftermarket kit are wider, the original ones fit into the indentations in the ends of the sway bar and the upper mounting brackets.

Because of these differences the tightening process is different, picture number two in my first post is from Autozone showing the tightening process. The top jam nut is supposed to be 15mm from the end of the bolt, with the new bushings not fitting properly into place like the old bushings, things just don't look right when I tighten lock nut down to the 15mm tightness.

From my old days of wrenching I was taught to tighten the bolts until the rubber just touched the outside of the base washer, unless a torque was specified. This has never failed me and never had a problem or return.
