Error Code P0100

So I got a cheap ABD2 bluetooth reader for my 03 Sorento now. It's showing that there is a stored error code of P0100, Mass Air Flow Circuit Problem.

I've cleared the code, and it hasn't come back yet, but I'm thinking this could possibly be the cause of my poor fuel efficiency?

Any suggestions on what is most likely causing the issue and how to fix?

Sounds like a dirty MAF. CRC sells a specific spray for it. But I think anything that says "electrical parts cleaner" should be ok. Just take it out and blast it.

Then have a look at your throttle body. The area around the plate is probably also dirty. Spray some intake cleaner on a rag and wipe that area until it's clean. Takes a little while if it's really dirty, but worth the effort.

And of course check the air & cabin filters.
