New To the Forum, Saying Hi and I have questions.. - code P0340

Hi Guys,
My name is Samuel and I have a 2003 Kia Rio Cinco. I live in Alberta Canada. My 2003 Kia Rio Cinco is getting the error code P0340 on my OBDII sensor. I have been trying to find a decent picture of where the camshaft sensor is located and can't find any decent pictures anywhere on the web of where it is located. If someone could help me out and send me a link or direct me to where I can find a good picture of where this unit is located. That would be greatly appreciated. I recently replaced the ignition coil as there was a short happening with it. Now everything is working with the exception of getting the error code P0340 and it has issues starting sometimes, idling properly, it won't start if it is raining or damp, and sometimes if it does start and runs for a bit, it will shut off on it's own, then restarting the car takes forever if at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Samuel

Hi Guys,
Wondering if someone can point me in the direction of a clear picture or even a link to the installation of the Camshaft Position Sensor for a 2003 Kia Rio Cinco. Youtube is full of videos of either the wrong car when you search for a 2003 Kia Rio, or the videos or pictures aren't clear enough to give you an idea of exactly where the sensor is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Samuel

RE: Location of Camshaft sensor...

Hi jJdangberg,
Thank you so much for your help. I have been trying to find the location of the sensor for some time now. I don't know if you are having the same problem as I am having, but I'm wondering if you were getting the P0340 code coming up on your car also? I'm hoping that the camshaft sensor is the problem with my car. I have replaced the ignition coil and spark plug wires as I was seeing a short in the dark when I sprayed water on the coil when it was dark out. That problem has been fixed, but my car won't start whenever it is raining or damp outside. If it is sunny and warm outside, it starts without problems, but as I mentioned whenever it is raining or damp out, it will not start at all. I live on disability so I can't afford to spend a ton of money on my car, but I also can't afford to buy another car, so hopefully I can solve this issue as I can't be without a car either.
Once again thank you for your help!
Regards,
Samuel
