cold start problem 2001 sportage

I have a 2001 sportage twin cam which has a problem when cold, the engine is sluggish until it reaches operating temperature, the ecu light is not on and I have had a scanner check for fault codes but none are present.
It may be a coincidence but the problem only started after I serviced the transmission. I used the wrong grade of trans oil but corrected this later by using dexron 2.
If anyone has had the same problem or can help I would appreciate it.
P.S. I am in Australia and the temperature at the moment is around 2 degrees in the morning. My car is in a garage at night.

eginald,
first, add all this info to your profile - I mean location, car...
Next, could you say how many miles/kms did you put on it? What other things were done recently - such as spark plugs, cables, oil, air filter...
What oil grade it was? Was it thicker than it should have?
Humidity - is it humid in the morning?
Temperature - I believe since in Australia you are talking about C, not F

So, when this problem occurs, do you feel it has power? Do you feel any misfire? Does it shift fine (auto or manual?)?
If it was not done - check spark plugs. When cold they need more energy to ignite fuel. Also, inspect cables as well as coils.
Then, can you say it is a problem of too much fuel, or too much air?

Do you talk/text and drive? Watch it. Very interesting test:
