Hitch receiver size & OK to tow honda accord?

Hello, new to the forums and new to my sporty. The tranny pump went out in my accord and I bought a 2002 Sportage 4d rwd w/ 122k miles to get me back and forth to work while i motor/tranny swap the accord (cb9). The honda is currently at the dealership and motionless so my question is, what size is the hitch receiver...2x2?.. (not near the car to go look and need to order one) and do you think i would be ok to tow the honda with a u-haul tow dolley for ~10 miles? i saw that the max tow capacity for the sporty is 2,000lbs but the accord is 2,800.

Thanks.

Honestly, if you are only going to use the hitch one time, it would be cheaper to have the car towed.

The hitch is $100, the receiver will run $25-30 and then the ball will be around $10-15.

Hi,
2000 lbs is the load limit for this small truck, and with electric brakes. Towing a car will be too much; also, include the weight of the tow dolly.

All i need is the ball. Thats why I was asking what the hitch reciever size was as I already have the hitch and receiver, I believe it is stock.

You are towing MORE than what your Kia is rated for..
So as others have also said, NO you should not try tow it. Pay for a tow truck.

Wink

Can I tell you about the time I saw a Suzuki Carry towing a two wheel car trailer with a Suzuki Jimmy on board - the Carry was on its side - trailer and towed car were upright and fine. Too much weight for the tow vehicle meant that when the tow vehicle turned into the corner the trailer wanted to keep going straight. The trailer won.
