irritating noisy flat spot

hi guys and girls
i have a carens 2.0 diesel and have a noisy flat spot at about 1500 revs to
2000 revs if pushed hard, if driven like a vicar no noise does any other carens owner suffer with problem, it could be turbo lag or under fueling the system has a drive by wire throttle E.T.C. wondering if this is the problem.

Hi i had the sme problem with a flat spot about the same speeds as you i looked at the air filter mine was black after just 10000 miles Changed it problem solved Still get the noise but aint bothered coz the flat spot gone
